Sinfully Delicious: Florentine Cookies á l’Allude (recipe)
Cookies are a girl’s best friend, right? That’s why each holiday season we send out a very limited number of nostalgic looking glass jars filled with what some say are the most delicious Florentine cookies EVER! As our kitchen space, unfortunately, is quite limited, this year we thought we’d share Allude creative director Andrea Karg’s secret recipe with all of you, dear Cashmeristas, so that you and your loved ones can enjoy this irresistible treat, too. Enough said, get those cookies going!
Florentines à l’Allude
for ca. 16 Florentines
- 100 g butter
- 125 g cream
- 150 g sugar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 200 g flaked almonds
- 50 g dried cranberries, chopped
- 50 g candied orange peel, chopped
- 200 g dark-, milk-, white chocolate
Instructions: Start by melting the butter together with the sugar and the honey in a saucepan over a very low heat and keep stirring until the mixture has melted. Now gradually add the cream while stirring continuously. Add the almonds, cranberries and orange peel. Stir thoroughly again and let it cool down. Then place heaped tablespoonfuls of the mixture onto a baking sheet. Bake on a high shelf for about 8 -10 minutes at 170 °C. After baking, reshape the Florentines. Finally dip the cooled Florentines in finest delicate melted white, milk or dark chocolate. Sinfully Delicious!
