Playlist: Heaven Scent by Soulwax ft. Chloë Sevigny

Fashion model, forever it-girl, actress, and now even a singer? There seems to be nothing that Chloë Sevigny can’t do. Back in 1994, American journalist Jay McInerney knew so already, when he published a seven-page tribute to the then 19-year-old “coolest girl in the world” in the New Yorker. For the coolest track of the hour, the all-rounder with the distinctive bedroom eyes collaborated with the French music designer Michel Gaubert – the man who, every season anew, makes sure that the fashion shows by labels such as Celine and Louis Vuitton are accompanied by the right sound. All of his playlists basically invite the question, “What is this song?”

Just as the track for the new campaign of the California perfume brand Régime des Fleurs does. Chloë Sevigny’s gently purring voice is accompanied by the funky beats of brothers David and Stephen Dewaele – the Belgian electro duo behind Soulwax and 2manydjs. The result of this project, orchestrated by Michel Gaubert, is sexy and a bit naughty. Just like Chloë. It’s no coincidence that one feels reminded of legendary parties in small, dimly lit Parisian clubs with velvet sofas and amber drinks. Let’s raise a glass of champagne to that. Santé!
