How to: The Make-up Look from our Spring/Summer 2015 Show
We are still in raptures about the subtle, clean look that Kakuyasu Uchiide, highly acclaimed international artistic director at legendary Japanese cosmetics brand Shu Uemura, created with Andrea Karg for our Spring/Summer 2015 show in Paris. As a special treat for our readers we asked the make-up master for some tips on how to recreate the look at home:
What was the vision behind your make-up look for Allude?
In spring I always feel that a new cycle in our lives begins. Through my work I want to share this feeling of freshness and celebrate the magic of new beginnings with people around the globe. Going all sexy and party did not feel right for the spring season; instead I was aiming for a simple and youthful look. The Allude cashmere collection itself inspired me to concentrate on the eyes and to focus the audience’s attention on them. Giving your eyes more definition with innovative eyeliners is a popular trend right now, so at Shu Uemura we will expand our eyeliner range with more colours and different textures.
What are the steps to re-create your work at home?
Define your eyes with a good-quality eyeliner such as our new super-long-lasting “Metal:ink” collection with very intense colours. A true must-have for spring and summer. Keep the eye shadow light and airy, don’t go all smoky. A perfect base is also key for the Allude look, and don’t forget to apply sun protection underneath, such as “UV Under Base” from Shu Uemura. Finally, finish your work with our “Lightbulb UV Compact”, a powder foundation that leaves your face with a refined porcelain-like glow. A quick glance in the mirror: beautiful, right?!
