Cozy Alpine Design Retreat: the Wiesergut in Hinterglemm
Sometimes it just has to be (brilliant) snow! Especially at the end of an exciting, challenging, sometimes breathless (fashion) year, taking a break and enjoying time spent in nature is definitely the “new black”. Or should we say “white”? Andrea Karg is not the only one who thinks so and heartily recommends to all Allude fans and their friends and families a very special hotel in Austria, whose history dates back to the year 1350.
Back then, the original Wiesern manor already existed here in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, on whose former farmland the modern but wonderfully cozy “ Wiesergut , owned by Martina and Sepp Kroll, has welcomed guests since 2012. The building and its interior with 24 suites combine clean lines with natural, rustic materials, such as untreated wood, stone, leather, linen and cuddly wool.
The cuisine is grounded in recipes of the Salzburg region, and chef Matthias Schütz celebrates a delicious form of Slow Food for and with his guests. Many of his ingredients are even grown in the very own herb and fruit gardens of this exceptional mountain design resort located at 1500 meters above Hinterglemm. Anyone who has tasted the wonderfully crusty Wieser bread, for example, is sure to get hooked, in the best sense of the word. The retreat boasts direct access to the skiing and hiking area Saalbach-Hinterglemm, a cozy lounge, a bar, including a library, spa, pool – you name it!
The bottomline: A great place to visit whether in summer or winter. Breathe in, breathe out, relax. Have fun!
