Bunny Hop: The Allude Easter Wishlist 2016
Since our lovingly compiled Christmas wish list received such positive feedback, the Allude team has again spared no effort to inspire you with special gift (giving) ideas for Easter 2016. By the way, we are quite alone in using the term Ostern, derived from old English and Germanic words. Only in England and the United States does the religious holiday carry a similar name – Easter. In France it is called Paquês, in Italy Pasqua and in Hebrew Pessach.
More diverse than the festival’s name are the customs that are celebrated during these days. According to folklore, in Sweden women secretly sneak out at night to a spring, where they draw Easter water, with which they wet their partner and thus secure his love. In England eggs are rolled downhill; eggs are also rolled in the White House in the United States, and a large Easter Parade is held on Manhattan’s 5th Avenue. In the Philippines, a rather odd ritual complements the traditions of the Easter bunny and coloured Easter eggs: When the church bells ring, some parents lift their children up by their heads, which they believe will make them grow taller. And last but not least, in Mexico Easter is a two-week-long celebration marked by various festivities. Only on Good Friday there’s neither music nor dance.
But no matter where and how you celebrate Easter, dear Allude fans, we are confident that our 13 tips will meet your exquisite tastes. After all, we don’t need a public holiday to treat ourselves or others with a stylish little something. Happy Easter!
