Book Club: “Living in Style – How we live”
There is hardly anything that says more about us than the place we live in – regardless of whether it is a cosy townhouse with stucco ornaments, a modern loft with generous windows or even a spacious villa. Every room, every object, each piece of furniture within tells a unique story about itself and the person living there. But who are these people really? To find out, author duo Dagmar von Taube and Adriano Sack took a look behind the walls of the homes of some of today’s most exciting creatives, artists and style icons.
“Living in style – the way we live”, however, does not only feature striking images of exceptional apartments, which might well evoke jealousy in light of one’s own interior design skills. It is above all the residents who stand out between Eames armchairs and Andy Warhol artworks, captivating the reader with their stories – from Elisabeth Princess von Auersperg-Breunner, for whom Easter is like a second Christmas, to Picasso biographer John Richardson or Barnaba Fornasetti, the son of the surrealist artist Piero Fornasetti.
If your home happens to feel a little on the chilly side after so much interior design splendour: Allude’s cashmere blanket will spruce up your home in just a few seconds.
