Andrea Karg on … her Interior Style
For Andrea Karg elegance and personal style are by no means a matter of wealth or a particular dress size – but a question of attitude. And attitude manifests itself equally in the smile with which you start off your day, your choice of outfit or in the pieces of furniture, the objects and works of art you share your home with.
“Contrary to the rest of my family, I highly favour minimalist interiors. I don’t need trinkets on a shelf to feel at home. If you, like me, are bombarded by visual stimulation all day long – from fashion spreads in magazines and coffee table books to fabric samples and cards with colour trends – your private surroundings have to be peaceful. Furnished with a dose of Zen, I suppose, so you can re-charge and let your eyes rest for a bit. The only objects I tolerate on this mainly white canvas are paintings and sculptures. Because art has always inspired and at the same time unwound me.”
