Allude & Friends: Jennifer Dixon, Fashion Director of InStyle
As fashion director of the magazine “InStyle” Jennifer Dixon not only knows every look from the runway by heart, but also the style of Hollywood stars, It-girls and pop sensations. About time to ask her about her own wardrobe principles:
My first fashion memory:
Barbie! Fifty dolls, tons of outfits, every day!
I would describe my style as:
Very clean with accents—and hopefully always appropriate for the occasion.
The most important rule in my own style guide:
My look should be laid-back and not come across as trying too hard.
My favourite trend for the winter:
The layered look in all its variations and silhouettes.
This is how I would wear these trends:
Flared trousers with a knee-length vest blazer or a floor-length skirt with oversized knitwear.
My favourite piece from the Allude Collection Fall/Winter 2015/2016:
The no. 5 of the show, the long Bordeaux-coloured knit dress. Because a wool dress is at the top of my shopping wish list for the winter.
The best style advice I’ve ever received:
I’m inspired by the clothes, style, and spirit of all kinds of women. I can’t really pick just one.
As a stylist/fashion editor I could not live without:
Shoes! They make an outfit complete.
My style icon:
Kate Moss. She is and remains the coolest woman ever!
The top sites in my browser bookmarks:
Style.com und dailymail.co.uk.
A song that always inspires me to dance:
Everything by Beyoncé and without fail “Are You Ready for Love” by Elton John.
